Ramey Encore Automatic Banjo

Originally produced from 1897 to about 1903, the Encore was one of the first coin-operated musical instruments and enjoyed little to no completion until about 1901 when coin-operated pianos started to appear from several makers. Dave Ramey picked up production of these musical marvels in 1977. There are approxiamately 35 original instruments that survive today, along with over 50 Ramey models.

This Ramey Encore Automatic Banjo was built circa 1980 by Dave Ramey, Sr. Exact date is unknown as Dave Sr. did not number the first couple of dozen models. It has been gone through here at the shop and is in top condition.
